Richard (Ric) W. Anderson

• AAS, BS, and MS degrees from Purdue University.
• A&P Certificate (FAA’s Airframe and Powerplant Licenses).
• Over thirty-eight (38+) years of directly related professional and management experience in transport-category air carrier commercial aviation.
• Began his professional career in 1972, as a maintenance dock planner, reliability analyst, and line maintenance supervisor with Continental Airlines in Los Angeles, CA.
• In 1979, joined FedEx, spending 20+ years in numerous professional and management positions in the rapid growth years of the air operations division in Memphis, TN; primarily managing reliability analysis & engineering support, and as their first Chief Engineer;
  • Chairman of the MD11 Industry Steering Committee, ISC; Chaired the ATA’s Maintenance Programs Subcommittee (maintaining MSG-3); FedEx representative on the DC10, A310 and A300-600 ISCs; U.S. Operators' Representative to the International Maintenance Review Board Policy Board (IMRBPB; a joint body of the FAA, EASA & TCCA).
• In 1999, became the Director, Maintenance & Materiel for the Air Transport Association (ATA) of America, in Washington, DC;
  • Liaison between ATA’s member air carriers and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); working/lobbying with both for reasonable rulemaking, guidance materials, and the safety of the flying public; managing ATA’s various maintenance, engineering, training, materiel, non-destructive testing (NDT), and human factors Councils, Committees, Subcommittees, Industry Groups, and ATA publications/specifications (such as MSG-3).
• Joined EmpowerMX in 2006, as Senior Director, Consulting;
  • Consulting with major/regional air carriers ... assessing how best to enhance their functional capabilities and fleet operating safety with existing resources; focused on CASS.  Was designated by the FAA as one of only three S-M-Es in CASS, Reliability Analysis and
    MSG-3; teaching same to the FAA's ASIs at their CMEL facility in Florida for three years.
• In 2010, formed/launched RicAC LLC.
